HAPPY HALLOWEEN
Salutations crafty friends! Happy Halloween season to you too! I hope that this post finds you full on in the Halloween spirit. Ghoulish fiends and screaming dreams!
Enough with the playful banter, here is my card:
I used the bats and Dracula from the Dracula going batty die set; the arched window die; the Happy Halloween word die set; and the Haunted paper pack to create this festive shaker card!Using Distress Inks, I inked up a panel and then die cut the arched window out. I used twisted citron, seedless preserves, wilted violet, and chipped sapphire. At the bottom I used the artsy sun stencil from Picket Fence Studios to make it look like flames were at the bottom of this window.~~Think fiery hell but in lime green color! (I have to admit, sometimes I just start blending and then see where the card goes; I don't plan out my cards and maybe I should because when I wing it, it takes longer sometimes. Oh well, I can just hide in the craft room and feel safe!)
I digress... so then I used scor tape to add the acetate to the window. Trimmed off any excess acetate and placed foam upon the back of the window/acetate piece. Next, I placed the shaker bits in the middle of the acetate panel, and placed a spooky tree paper from the Haunted paper pack as the window backer. I got the face of the creepy/scary tree to show thru on the bottom left portion for an extra scare!
The final additions to the card are the slightly off set words, Dracula, and the bats. The shiny green paper that I used is something I painted last year and it turned out to be the perfect lime green for Halloween items! I did this by using Pretty Peridot Silks acrylic glaze upon some Arches watercolor paper.
Finally, I added the three purple rhinestones to the top of the card and I was done!
Bats off to you! Thanks for dropping on by to my post today. Please feel free to comment and let me know what you think!
Cheers and crafty hugs! xo LIZARD xo
